Building Project Update

Here is the road we have traveled and the road ahead. Future dates are our best current estimates, and we will update this page as each step is completed.

  • 2018

    A place to worship

    We purchased 23 acres at 839 Greenville Street and renovated the house on the property into our worship space.

  • 2019

    Planning begins

    Our congregation grew, and the vestry formed a building committee to plan for the space we would need.

  • 2022 to 2025

    Design and building campaign

    We hired LS3P as our architects and, with input from the congregation, designed a sanctuary for our campus. Through the building campaign, the congregation has given more than $1.6 million toward the project.

  • March 2026

    Lasko Foundation grant

    The John C. Lasko Foundation Trust awarded us a $700,000 grant restricted to construction of the sanctuary itself. The grant pays out in three equal installments tied to project milestones.

  • August 9, 2026

    Congregational consent

    The congregation consented to the vestry encumbering the property as security for a construction loan not to exceed $900,000. That figure is a ceiling rather than a target. We intend to borrow only what the project requires.

  • Fall 2026

    Lender selection and final drawings

    The vestry compares terms from three lenders and selects the one that serves the parish best. LS3P completes the construction drawings, and we submit them to the county for permitting.

  • November 2026 · Anticipated

    Building permit and first grant installment

    We anticipate permit approval around early November. County review timelines vary, so we hold this date loosely. The permit also releases the first of the three Lasko installments.

  • December 2026 or January 2027 · Anticipated

    Groundbreaking

    With the permit in hand, Trehel, our general contractor, begins construction. The exact start depends on permitting and the holiday schedule.

  • During construction · 2027

    Second grant installment

    Once construction is underway, we document our progress and the use of the first installment, which releases the second.

  • Winter 2028 · Anticipated

    Certificate of occupancy and first services

    The county issues the certificate of occupancy, the final Lasko installment arrives, and we gather for worship in the new sanctuary.

Sanctuary construction is supported by a grant from the John C. Lasko Foundation Trust, Bank of America, N.A., Co-Trustee.
